The Children’s Garden is run by a voluntary committee. We encourage the participation of all members of the community, including the children themselves, who can offer expertise in a particular area or as general volunteers.

We invite everyone to help us maintain this recreational, educational, artistic and health promotional facility for children, parents and the community which encourages environmental values, biodiversity and health promotion, and is also building a vibrant local community.

We do need your help to keep all these events and activities going. If you have a specific interest or expertise in a particular area such as gardening, healthy eating, exercise, music and the arts in general, please contact us.

About the Garden

The Children's Garden is a great place for children, friends and families. It's where you can play with your friends, plant seeds, water, on games and cool outdoor stuff. We also harvest, cook or sell some of the food that grows here.

But it's also a place for the whole community to share - parents, grandparents and volunteers all help to make this work.

It's also a space which schools and organisations working with children can use for a whole range of uses.

Our aims are to promote good healthy food, healthy outdoor exercise, friendship, arts and music, and to support schools (but not necessarily all at the same time!) After five years we've done some of that, but there's plenty of scope to develop this remarkable project further!
